John Wesley BULLOCK, 1st child of Charles Emerson and Viola Jane BULLOCK, nee SHAFER, was born 20 May 1885 near Milton, Indiana.   John, married Leona Pearl FUNKHOUSER 3 February 1913 at Methodist Church Parsonage in Red Key, Indiana.   Pearl, daughter of Willaim Franklin "Frank" and May Luetta "Ettie" FUNKHOUSER nee RADER, was born 9 May 1888 in Delaware County, Indiana.

John died 29 October 1957.
Pearl died 19 March 1964.
John and Pearl are buried in Elm Ridge Cemetery, Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana.

John:
      Attended schools near Selma and Yorktown. He lived near Yorktown where he was a farmer and breeder of Angus cattle and draft horses.
Pearl:
      Member Yorktown Methodist Church. Attended school near Crossrodds and at Yorktown. Member Yorktown Woman's Club for 30 years. Rural mail carrier out of Yorktown, Ind. Started at the age of 16, when she substituted on route run by her father immediately following his death. Was officially appointed Aug. 8, 1904 and served until Jan. 31, 1913. She traveled in a horse drawn mail wagon that was heated with a charcoal stove in the winter. Made an extended tour of Germany during a three month visit with Helen and David Cowell in 1958.
