Helen Luetta BULLOCK, 1st child of John Wesley and Leona Pearl BULLOCK, nee FUNKHOUSER, was born 14 July 1918 in Delaware County, Indiana, married Maurice METZCAR 24 April 1937 in Richmond, Indiana.   Maurice, son of John and Myrtle Fletcher METZCAR nee TAYLOR, was born 27 July 1913 in Delaware County, Indiana.

Maurice was missing in action April 1951 to November 1953. Dept. of Defense determination of death placed as of September 1951 in North Korea, was dated November 1953.

Helen:
      Member Episcopal Church Graduate Yorktown H.S. 1936 and Indiana Business College 1936. Member Muncie Moose Lodge 1946 - 1953. Formerly employed by Glascock Bros., Ball Stores, and Muncie Nash as bookkeeper, general office, and credit clerk. As an Army wife has been employed in public accountants offices. Entered Civil Service 1949 - 1956; reentered 1962. Has been employed by C. S. in finance and accounting offices at Ft. Bliss, Texas; Andrews AFB, Maryland; and Ft. Hood, Texas. Favorite residency was 3 years in Germany while stationed at Heilbronn (Southern Bavaria), Baumhulder (west of the Rhine), and Hanau (near Frankfurt). Toured all of Germany; 3 trips to Holland; then Italy; Denmark England; Paris, France; West Berlin and a short visit to East Berlin just after May Day 1959. Favorite overseas cities are Amsterdam, Holland and Florence, Italy.
Maurice:
      Graduate Yorktown H.S. 1931. Member Muncie Moose Lodge. Former employee of A & P Food Store, Muncie 1937 - 1942; 1946 - 1949. U.S. Military Service 1942-1946; commissioned officer Sept. 1943; European Theater March 1945 - Sept. realest March 1946. Reentered active duty Nov. 1949; Korean Theater 1950. Rank Capt.

Helen married David Holbrook COWELL 10 June 1954 at Grace Episcopal Church, Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana.   David, son of David H. and May Josepline COWELL nee BLAISDELL, was born 16 March 1921 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Helen died 18 June 1982.
David died 29 October 1983.
Helen and David are buried in Fort Bliss, National Memorial Cemetery, El Paso, Texas.

David:
      Member Episcopal Church. Graduate Hingham, Mass. H.S. 1938. Member National Model Railroad Association since 1938. U.S. Army 1942-1946; commissioned 1943, Philllpine Liberation 1945; Japan Occupation 1945-1946. Released 1946. Returned to active duty 1951- Korea 1951-1953 and Germany 1956-1959. Presently stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. Rank Capt; reserve commission is Lt. Col. Expected retirement March 1967. Formerly Millwright at National Foods, West Hanover, Massachusetts.


Their child:

  1. John David COWELL, born 25 October 1959 in Elpaso, Texas.   John married Lisa GREEN 4 September 1982 in El Paso, Texas.
