Coleman Staton, 90, 413 S.
Hutchinson St., died Saturday in Liberty Village
Nursing Home after a short illness. He was born in Bath County, Ky., attended schools there, moved to Indiana in 1940 and moved to Munce in 1963. He founded the building firm of Staton Homes Inc., which he owned and operated with his sons until his retirement in 1968. He was a member of the Church of God (Anderson affiliation) and was a former deacon of the Pauline Street Church of God in Muncie. In 1987, he was commissioned a Kentucky. Colonel. Survivine are his wife of 68 years, Madge Razor Staton; four sons, Ralph Staton (wife: Melanie), Charles Staton (wife: Patricia), Carrol Staton (wife: Sally), all of Muncie, and Hilbert Staton (wife: |
Judy), Inverness, Fla.; two daughters, Ruth Marsh
(husband: Alfred), Carmel, and Donna Haas (husband:
Michael), Buena Park, Calif.; a brother, John
Staton, Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Victoria Lorber,
Franklin; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren,
and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Staton, and two sisters, May Maze and Clara Goodpaster. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Meeks, Mortuary, with Pastor Billy L. Adams of Pauline Street Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling is 6-8 p.m. today and 2 hours before services on Tuesday at the mortuary. |
