Hazel E. Garvin, 93, of
Hagerstown died at her home Monday. A resident of Hagerstown since 1927, she attended Evening Light Tabernacle of Hagerstown. She was born Sept. 18, 1905, in Farmers, Ky., a daughter of John and Martha Green Ritchie. She is survived by seven daughters, Edith Casebolt of Oklahoma City, Okla., Florence Arthur of Richmond, Thelma Bicknell, Helen Matney, Marggie Berrier, Martha Taylor and Doris Warvel, all of Hagerstown; a daughter |
-in-law, Judy Garvin of
Hagerstown; a sister-in-law, Magdalena Ritchie
of LeMars, Iowa; 32 grandchildren; 40
great-grand children; six great-great-
grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown. There will be no public calling hours. Culberson Funeral Home in Hagerstown is in charge of arrangements.

HAGERSTOWN Charles E.
Garvin, 53, of 15387 W. E. Oler Road,
Hagerstown, died Tuesday at Reid Hospital in
Richmond. A Hagerstown resident all of his life, Mr. Garvin graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1961 and retired from Dana's Perfect Circle Plant in Hagerstown and was the pastor of the Evening Light Tabernacle near Hagerstown. He was born July 12, 1943, in New Castle to Clarence and Hazel Ritchie Garvin. Survivors include his wife, Judy; three daughters, Sheri Garvin of Noblesville and Beky and Mattie Garvin, both of Hagerstown; four sons,Ron and Stephen of Hagerstown and |
Charles Jr.and Aaron, both of Johnson City,
Tenn.; a granddaughter; hismother of
Hagerstown; seven sisters, Thelma Bicknell,
Helen Matney, Margaret Berrier, Martha
Taylor and Doris Warvel, all of Hagerstown,
Edith Casebolt of Oklahoma City, Okla., and
Florence Arthur of Richmond; and several
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Culberson Funeral Home in Hagerstown with Raymond Bingaman and Jeff Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday. April 1, 1997. |
