Leslie "Fat" Rogers, 80, died Tuesday, September
29, 1998, at his home in Lebo. He was born October 6, 1917, on the family farm southeast of Lebo, the son of Jessie D. and Nanny Fanny Razor Rogers. He attended Rural Dale Grade School and was graduated from Lebo High School where he participated in the football and track programs. Mr. Rogers lived his entire life on the family farm. He was a diversified farmer. Mr Rogers served on the Keywest Township board and was a ASCS committee member. He was married to Caroline Bacon, August 20, 1966, at the first Baptist Church in Council Grove. She survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons, Carl Rogers and his wife Cynthia, Waverly and Jesse Rogers, Sedgwick; |
one daughter Nancy Robinson and her husband, Mark, and their
daughters, Hannah and Sarah, Admire; one brother Cecil Rogers,
Lawrence; one sister, Nellie Calvert Bowlin, Emporia; three
brothers-in-law, Frank Bacon, Boyd Bacon and Bob Bacon and
rheir wives; three sisters-in-laws, Ruth Johnson, Mary Bechtel
and Lois West; and several nieces, nephews, friends and
neighbors. He was proceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John Sedker, Glen Rogers, Elmer Rogers and Irvin Rogers and one sister, Pearl Hickman. Leslie was a devoted father and husband. He loved to make people smile with his words and entertain children with a bunny he would make with his hanky. The family wishes to thank everyone for their concerns and other acts of kindness during his illness and since his passing. May God bless each and everyone for the rest of their precious lives. |
