John B. Davidson was shot from ambush 24 March 1889 while
riding his horse on his way home from Owingsville to Midland
City, Kentucky. He died the next morning, but was unable to
identify the
person who shot him. His brother-in-law, George F. Green,
was accused and stood trial seven times before being acquitted.
It cost George F. Green $30,000 to clear his name. This was
taken from the BATH COUNTY BANNER of March 15 1894.
